In yesterday’s entry, I mentioned that to make the most of the paper, I put some inspiring words on the back of the lyrics I handed out to students. The words go as follows.
Don’t Quit
Don’t quit when the tide is lowest,
For it’s just about to turn;
Don’t quit over doubts and questions,
For there’s something you may learn.
Don’t quit when the night is darkest,
For it’s just a while ’til dawn;
Don’t quit when you’ve run the farthest,
For the race is almost won.
Don’t quit when the hill is steepest,
For your goal is almost nigh;
Don’t quit, for you’re not a failure
Until you fail to try.

Dear Annie,
Thank you for sharing with me the website. I visited it and found other lovely poems. Jill Wolf’s poems are simple and sweet. Here is another example. And you’re like the friends mentioned in the poem.
Best of Friends
The best of friends,
Can change a frown,
Into a smile,
when you feel down.
The best of friends,
Will understand,
Your little trials,
And lend a hand.
The best of friends,
Will always share,
Your secret dreams,
Because they care.
The best of friends,
Worth more than gold,
Give all the love,
A heart can hold.
