This noon I have a happy gathering with my dear friend Annie (詹麗馨老師) at Tasty. We saw each other about twice a year.
When I got to the restaurant, Annie was already seated, absorbed in Reader’s Digest. An avid reader, she has read myriads of books. I often wonder how she can read so many so fast. Is it a gift she was born with or a result of practice?
We talked a lot over lunch–what we are doing now, our plans, our students, our family, plurk, etc. After lunch we went to a bookstore. We both like to collect materials we can use in teaching or test writing. However, Annie often buys more than I do. She often introduces to me books worth reading. Simply put, she is a resource center to me.
